Welcome Postdoctoral Investigator Ming Shao

Ming Shao, Postdoctoral Investigator, joins WHOI’s PO Department.  Ming earned his PhD from the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmosphere, and Earth Science at the University of Miami.  Ming’s research interests are air-Sea interaction, upper ocean dynamics, boundary layer processes, laboratory observation of wave-turbulence interaction, and see-going observations.  Currently, Ming is working with Lisan Yu on expanding the machine learning framework to improve the air-sea flux estimation in the Arctic region as well as understanding the stable atmospheric boundary layer.  In his spare time, Ming enjoys swimming, running, hiking, traveling and watching movies.
