WHOI President and Director Peter de Menocal dives in Alvin

WHOI President and Director Peter de Menocal took his first dive in the research submersible Alvin on August 2, joined by Janis Coughlin-Piester, Chief Financial Officer and Office Head for Budget, Finance, and Award Management at the National Science Foundation (NSF) and piloted by Bruce Strickrott.
“Diving in Alvin was such an amazing experience!” de Menocal said after his dive. “Two big takeaways for me: there is no substitute for ‘being there’ in person, and this is only possible due to the commitment and professionalism of the WHOI Alvin team.”
